Ok lets try something new...

I came across this idea when looking back through my pictures I had submitted and saw my pitiful attempt at photographing a whale. Fortunately I actually caught some blurry evidence, other animals, which I intend to cover at a later date just get away.

So why is the whale such a difficult beast to capture?  Being on a whale cruise where I was surrounded by photographers more determined than myself to get that perfect shot of a creature which remains hiding under dark water to pop up randomly in what as an anticlimax turns into a brief view of a bit of back.  Which for photographing does not make an interesting shot, unlike getting a snap of the whale tale which has something interesting to view in picture as the whale seems to be difficult to capture already this makes the whale tale even rarer.

On the way searching the waters the weather turned a lot worse than it already was - I was lost with the flexibility over my camera as I had my gloves on.  Once the rain started pouring touring soaking my gloves and effecting for the bad my ability to focus the camera on target made things exceptional difficult.

The whale cruise as mentioned gets the determined photographer who wants that perfect snap at the expense of others getting a view, so this makes capturing more difficult to collect, to have the luxury of a private tour would be beneficial however this is not a guarantee and we are not all lucky enough to be able to afford this.  A difficulty of the trip was actually finding marine life in Cape Cod; most of the journey was spent chasing after whales on the sonar.

It is not an easy thing to capture even if you get whales it does not mean that it will happily pose in pictures that make some nice shots and annoyingly it can pop up between either side of the boat so you are stood with your camera ready unaware that it has done something interesting on the other side.

An easier way to capture whale pictures is in captivity.  I have never been to Sea World or any similar place but having creatures that have been trained to be show offs entertaining people creating that satisfying shot and I bet the weather in Florida is much better than New England.

I intend to go out one day and do the whale shot justice, but for now lets see some of the fantastic whale shots on this site.

It's been a while, so I thought it was time to add some new content to my page.  Haven't been up to much just finished Uni and have a few avenues I am considering on where to go next.

I decided with the pictures not to bother with the border, I am not very good at it and feel my pics look better without it, besides I'm sure if someone really wanted to use it without my credit they would know how to remove the border easily.

Has anyone tried Twitter?  I was sceptical at first but I am converted I would never use it for keeping in touch with friends but it is great for businesses and to keep hearing from people you like and respect.

If you wish please follow me....

On a personal note I have my deviant page linked in my profile and have noticed I have had about 30 extra page views to my main picture (the red squirrel) so if you are not on I recommend joining especially if you want to gain awareness of your prints.

Again as always thank you for checking out my pictures.
